A 74-year-old Oakland woman was arrested after police said she sprayed bear repellent during an argument in the parking lot of an East Bay Trader Joe’s, exposing eight people and sending one to a hospital.
Lafayette police identified the woman as Monica Thomas. She was booked Saturday at the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful use of tear gas.
