University of Kentucky student sues university over alleged residence hall assault

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A University of Kentucky student is suing the university, its housing partner, a resident assistant and two individuals, alleging failures in campus housing security led to her being assaulted inside a residence hall earlier this year.

The lawsuit, filed July 6, claims Lauren Maiorino and others were attacked by Lorenzo Katio, who was staying in Jewell Hall as the guest of another resident.
