Man convicted of killing parents, sister in Henrietta gets life sentences

Rochester, N.Y. — A man convicted of murder for fatally stabbing three family members received the maximum sentence Tuesday.

Authorities said Rajab Banahi, then 39, used kitchen knives to fatally stab his parents and sister Jan. 11, 2023 inside his parents’ home on Kathy Drive in Henrietta. His parents, Ali and Mastoora, died at the scene. His sister, Masuda, died 17 days later. Banahi, who was not allowed to be at the house, was arrested at the scene after calling 911 and telling dispatchers he committed the killings.

In a bench trial, Judge Michael Dollinger convicted Banahi on June 23 of three counts of first-degree murder and aggravated criminal contempt…
