OGDENSBURG, N.Y. (WWTI) – Citing severe strain on shelter space, daily resources, and hands-on staffing following a recent large-scale rescue operation, the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA announced a temporary, immediate pause on all new animal intakes.
In a public statement released on Facebook, the organization noted that its facilities have reached maximum capacity. The difficult decision was made to protect the health and well-being of the animals currently under the shelter’s roof, ensuring they receive necessary intensive medical care, daily attention, and individualized treatment.
