JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Zoo will offer free admission on July 28, 2026, due to a power outage that’s affecting portions of the facility.
At this time, city leaders said the Splash Pad and the Carousel will remain closed for the day until power is restored. Despite these temporary closures, leaders said many of the zoo’s animal exhibits remain open for guests to enjoy.
Due to the high temperatures forecasted for Tuesday, animals will have access to their climate-controlled indoor barns and holding areas throughout the day. As a result, some animals may choose to remain indoors, relax in shaded areas of their habitats or cool off in exhibit pools…
