LUBBOCK, Texas — Adulthood had only just begun for 19-year-old Sean Canales, who was tragically killed after a February 2026 motorcycle crash in the 4600 block of Marsha Sharp Freeway and seriously injured his girlfriend, Maizie Casares.
Saturday, August 1 marks six months since his passing. In his honor, his mother, Rose Canales and stepfather, Corey Canales, created a memorial ride to help spread motorcycle safety awareness at the At Home parking lot, located at 4304 W Loop 289, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event is also set to have a balloon release that will start at 8:37 p.m., the time he was pronounced deceased.
