Cameron J. Brown, 22, of Ferriday, and Jaquarius Davis, 23, were booked into the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility. Police said that last Monday, at about 1:20 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting at the Holiday Inn in downtown Shreveport. Officers found Derrick Wayne Coleman Jr., 32, dead from several gunshot wounds.
With assistance from law enforcement agencies in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, investigators identified Brown and Davis as people allegedly involved in the case. Detectives said they anticipate making one additional arrest. A third suspect remains unidentified.
The Louisiana state education superintendent has issued guidance to school district leaders about handling student behavior.
