The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has put out an urgent alert. Over the past few weeks, forced-entry burglaries have been rising in Highlands Ranch, and they’re not random. Every targeted home has one thing in common: it backs up to open space or a golf course.
What’s Actually Happening
The break-in method is calculated. According to the Sheriff’s Office, suspects are throwing rocks at second-story windows first, not to enter, but to check if anyone is home. If no one reacts, they move to the basement windows to get in.
Most incidents are happening between 10 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. Several victims were confirmed to be out of town when it happened…
