Operation Red Card Nets 17 Arrests, 12 Firearms Ahead of FIFA World Cup in Seattle

Seattle, WA. — Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies arrested 17 individuals, seized 12 firearms, and returned two out-of-state fugitives during a coordinated public safety initiative conducted ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Seattle.

The operation, known as Operation Red Card, was carried out from May through July 2026 by the Sound Regional Violent Crime Task Force. The effort was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Seattle Field Division in partnership with the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Seattle Police Department, King County Sheriff’s Office, and numerous other agencies.
