DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Miamisburg Historical Society will hold a free family-friendly America 250 event this weekend, The Timeline.
According to organizers, the Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 event will run from noon to 5 p.m. on both days at the Gebhart Tavern. Admission is free, but a $5 donation is suggested.
Miamisburg Historical Society President Greg Powell said there will be historical reenactors wearing clothes styled to approximately the 1810s. Attendees will be able to learn about the history of the tavern, its proximity to the river and the types of people who often visited it.

The reenactors will explain what they are wearing and why:
- The men often bring in items they’d typically trade: furs, grains, hunting equipment, knives and more.
- The women often wear gorgeous dresses they designed.
