North Carolina A&T is closing in on hiring Katreshia Louis-Verrett as its next athletic director, according to a report from HBCU Gameday. If finalized, the move would mark a homecoming for Louis-Verrett, who previously spent six years at North Carolina A&T before departing for UAB in 2017. She currently serves as the Deputy Athletic Director at UAB.
Louis-Verrett would succeed Earl Hilton, who stepped down earlier this year after serving as North Carolina A&T’s athletic director for 15 years. During her previous tenure in Greensboro, Louis-Verrett served as the university’s Senior Woman Administrator, overseeing eight sports while also serving as deputy Title IX coordinator and advising the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Her responsibilities also included working alongside the faculty athletics representative on NCAA reporting.
Before arriving at North Carolina A&T, Louis-Verrett spent five years at Georgia Tech, serving as assistant director of compliance from 2006 through 2011.
