PORTAGE, Mich. — They are businesses designed to feel welcoming, places where customers come to relax, get pampered and leave feeling their best.
But over the last several weeks, salons and beauty businesses across West Michigan have become targets of overnight break-ins and thefts, leaving owners frustrated, concerned and searching for answers.
News Channel 3 has now spoken with eight salon owners impacted by or concerned about the recent string of crimes. Many of them say the pattern feels personal, especially because the businesses being targeted are places they have spent years building.
