Route 222 Lane Restrictions Could Slow Lancaster County Traffic

LANCASTER COUNTY, PA — Drivers on Route 222 should prepare for daytime delays next week as bridge inspections over Cocalico Creek bring right-lane restrictions in both directions through West Earl and Warwick townships, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

PennDOT will inspect the northbound Route 222 bridge over Cocalico Creek on Monday, Aug. 3, followed by the southbound bridge on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Rather than a full closure, motorists should expect the right lane and shoulder to be restricted during the inspections. Crews will use an inspection crane from the highway to examine the structures.

No detour is planned because traffic will be maintained through the remaining travel lane. Even so, plan extra time and expect delays during the daytime work hours, particularly during periods of heavier traffic…
