Park rangers and an air crew rescued a woman clinging to rocks in the cold, swift-moving Kern River on Saturday in the Central Valley, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
A park ranger was flagged down around 3:50 p.m. on Highway 178 outside Bakersfield by a person who said a woman had been swept downstream after falling into the Kern River, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.
