Governor proclaimed Senior Service Day returns for 11th annual celebration honoring South Carolina’s older adults and caregivers

Caring for Aging Beauties (C.A.B.), a South Carolina 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring companionship and social engagement for older adults (our aging beauties), will host the 11th Annual Senior Service Day & Caregiver Recognition Event on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Word of God Church & Ministries International Banquet Hall, located at 119 Diamond Lane, Columbia, SC 29223.

Observed annually through an official proclamation issued by Governor Henry McMaster, Senior Service Day has become a meaningful statewide observance dedicated to recognizing the value, wisdom, and lifelong contributions of older adults while celebrating the family members, friends, and professional caregivers whose compassion and commitment enrich the lives of those they serve.

Founded by healthcare leader and aging advocate Kesha L. Hayes, Caring for Aging Beauties was established in response to a growing need for meaningful companionship and social engagement among older adults. Recognizing the harmful effects of loneliness and social isolation, the organization works to inspire and organize volunteers who provide ongoing companionship while creating opportunities for older adults to remain socially connected, engaged, and valued within their communities…
