I-40 East in Wake County near RDU reopens after 5-car crash, officials say

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Interstate 40 in Wake County has reopened following a five-vehicle crash Monday morning, the North Carolina Department of Transportation said.

According to NCDOT, the crash happened on I-40 East past Exit 285 just after 8:30 a.m. near Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Just before 10:30 a.m., NCDOT announced the road had reopened.
