Baton Rouge African American Museum
Founded in 2001 by the late Sadie Roberts-Joseph, the Baton Rouge African American Museum is the city’s only museum dedicated to African and African American history, and it just made its highly anticipated return. Now settled into its new location, the larger space is home to hundreds of artifacts, including a recreated sharecropper’s cabin, plus a children’s room and meeting rooms built to serve the community.
