Shreveport Green is preparing to take over and reimagine a plot of land on Southfield Road that neighbors want to see put to better use. Currently just a grass lot with a few fruit trees, a partnership with the plot’s neighbors is primed to see it transformed into a shared community garden.
The city council this week took its first vote on authorizing an agreement with Shreveport Green, a nonprofit focused on local environmental issues, to manage the plot at 341 Southfield Rd. With the neighbors’ help, they plan to turn useless, city-owned space into something vibrant…
