Los Ranchos ice cream shop places in top 8 of national competition

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) — A local ice cream shop made it to the top 8 of a national competition involving 64 ice cream shops from across the country.

Cottonwood Creamery & Cookies on 4th in Los Ranchos aims to tell a “story of unique small-batch, big-flavor homemade ice cream treats.” We asked the owner what this national recognition means to the shop.

“We are working our hardest every day to make small batch, slow churned artisanal ice cream that puts smiles on our customers faces. Everything that we put in to our ice cream is made from scratch in house,” said Paul Meyer, who owns Cottonwood Creamery alongside his fiancée Irma Ruiz. “We set out to a be creative, epicurean dessert cafe and resolana in the heart of Los Ranchos… If that has gained us national attention? Then so be it… and we are honored and humbled.”…
