If you’ve noticed more traffic creeping onto the west side of the Treasure Valley, don’t expect it to slow down anytime soon.
Meridian just approved the first phase of The Fields, a massive new neighborhood that will bring nearly 900 homes just northeast of Nampa. And while the project isn’t inside Nampa city limits, it will almost certainly affect how we drive, shop, and grow over the next decade.
This isn’t just another subdivision. It’s the beginning of a master-planned community that could eventually include more than 2,300 homes and apartments, neighborhood businesses, parks, and new employment space.
What Was Approved?
The Meridian City Council unanimously approved the annexation and preliminary plans for Westveil, the first neighborhood within The Fields.
The first phase includes:
- 602 single-family homes
- 297 townhomes
- A community pool and clubhouse
- Walking paths and neighborhood open space
- Construction expected to take about seven years
The neighborhood will be built near McMillan Road and Owyhee Storm Avenue, west of Owyhee High School.
