(KRON) — A crash was reported at Petaluma Municipal Airport on Wednesday evening, according to the airport. There were no reported injuries or fatalities.
Shelter-in-place order issued for San Jose neighborhood due to domestic disturbance
The incident happened at 6:43 p.m. at the Petaluma airport, located at 601 Sky Ranch Drive in Sonoma County. The Petaluma Fire Department said the crash happened during takeoff, and the aircraft, identified as a gyrocopter, came to rest next to the runway.
The airport confirmed to KRON4 that only the pilot was on board at the time of the incident. He exited the aircraft before the Petaluma Fire Department arrived at the scene, and he was evaluated at the scene by emergency personnel. The gyrocopter has since been removed from the runway.
