Four breweries, one beer and a whole lot of Carpinteria pride

Every great beer tells a story. At this year’s Surf ‘n’ Suds Beer Festival, that story begins long before the first pint is poured.

Inside Island Brewing Company last week, brewers from Carpinteria’s four hometown breweries gathered around a brew kettle, tossing around ideas, sharing laughs and creating what has become one of the festival’s most anticipated traditions — the official Surf ‘n’ Suds Collaboration Beer.

What started years ago as a partnership between Island Brewing Company, brewLAB and Rincon Brewery has grown into something even bigger. With the addition of Third Window Brewing, the collaboration has evolved from the beloved “Tres Cervecerias” into a new chapter appropriately named “Take 4.”…
