SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – At 8:30am the National Weather Service issued a Flood Advisory for Sarasota and Manatee. This was in response to the heavy rainfall that has occurred and may continue to occur in places this morning.
Standing water on roads or other low-lying poor drainage areas will occur. Slow down on the roads this morning and remember that as little as 1/4 inch of standing water can cause your car to hydroplane.
Between 2 to 4 inches of rain has fallen and more is expected as the day progresses, although the focus for storms will shift a bit inland as we move into afternoon…
