Farrah Abraham is continuing her quest to win a seat on the Austin, Texas, city council— despite the fact that she may not even meet the residency requirements to be a candidate for Austin City Council.
As you may remember, the self-proclaimed Top Female Celebrity in Our Nation announced in January that she was planning to run for Mayor of Austin, Texas. Unsurprisingly Unfortunately, The Big F soon learned (while on live TV, natch) that the next election for mayor won’t be held until 2028. As a result, Farrah revised her campaign plan to run for Austin City Council District 5.
On Tuesday, Farrah threw on some swanky candidate merch and took to social media to announce that she’s “officially on the ballot for November,” while expressing her gratitude “in advance” to District 5 residence for their support.
While Farrah’s name may be “officially on the ballot,” it remains unclear if she’s actually eligible to run for Austin City Council. According to the City’s website, “a candidate for city council from a council district must meet all eligibility requirements […] and must have resided continuously in the state for 12 months and in the council district from which the member is seeking election for six months immediately preceding the regular filing deadline for a council candidate’s application for a place on the ballot.”…
