Winnebago Co. workers receive $90K+ in back pay after wage violation investigation

WINNEBAGO CO., Ill. (WIFR) – The Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) recovers more than $90,000 for workers on a Winnebago County solar energy project following a wage violation investigation.

The Illinois Prevailing Wage Act requires contractors and subcontractors working on public works projects to pay workers an hourly wage pre-established for the trade and county where the work is being done.
