Homeowners in west Charlotte combat threat of short-term, single-room rentals

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – It’s hard to miss the yard signs in Wesley Heights, publicizing homeowners’ opposition to the planned changes at two historic homes in the neighborhood.

Online permits show one of the homes on Woodruff Place, after an addition, is planned to change from 2 bed/1 bath, to 6 bed/6 bath.

Neighbors fear the owner’s intention is to transform the home into short-term rentals for six different guests, who will have their own bedroom and bathroom…
