Woman files federal lawsuit against Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A federal lawsuit has been filed against the Vanderburgh County sheriff’s office by a woman who’s claiming she was wrongfully arrested.

The incident happened back in 2024 when the sheriff’s office was called about a young child wandering outside by themselves. The lawsuit claims Deputy Alexander Miller asked Carie Brown if the child was hers, to which she said both of her kids were in the home.

Deputy Miller told Brown that her kids did not match the description of the child in question. That’s when Sergeant Thad Zuber asked Brown to identify herself…
