GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Last Mile Cafe is closing its original location in Grand Rapids.
Friday will be the last day of operations for the cafe at 1006 Hall St. SE near Kalamazoo Avenue SE. However, Last Mile will continue running its nearby cafe at the HUB 07 community center, which opened earlier this year.

“We want to be upfront about why,” founder Arick Davis wrote in a social media post. “Running two locations surfaced financial gaps we hadn’t caught last year, and with my attention split across projects and me no longer living in Grand Rapids full time, the overhead at Hall Street became more than we could sustainably manage.”
The “open and thriving” HUB 07 location will become Last Mile’s new home base, Davis wrote. Last Mile will also maintain its presence at the Fulton Street Farmers Market and accept catering and wholesale orders online.
