SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Mayor’s Women’s Commission (SMWC) is pleased to announce the 2026 winners of the “Write Your Heart Out” Scholarship Contest.
This initiative was designed to recognize and help support young women in the Caddo Parish and Shreveport community as they prepare to enter college. The scholarship contest aims to empower graduating high school seniors by providing an opportunity to share their voices, experiences, and aspirations through written expression.
Shreveport Mayor’s Women’s Commission would like to extend our sincere congratulations to the recipients below and wish them all the best success as they enter their upcoming school year
- 1st -Amelia Wise of Caddo Magnet High School attending Yale University in the Fall. ~ $500
- 2nd -Mia Kiihnl of C.E. Bryd High School attending Texas Christian University in the Fall ~ $250
- 3rd – Madeline Basco of C.E. Byrd High School attending Louisiana Tech University in the Fall~$100
