SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Over 20,000 Avista customers in Spokane County are being warned of possible Public Safety Power Shutoff this Saturday due to high fire weather.
According to Avista, there are no power shutoffs currently planned, but people should be prepared for the possibility of an outage if weather conditions worsen.
Avista says if power is shut off, it will not turn it back on until the risk has passed and conditions are safe to do so. Depending on how long extreme fire weather lasts, or if repairs are needed, power could be off for longer than 24 hours…
