The Weather Authority: Pleasant Friday gives way to a soggy start to August

A nice end to July is in store for Central Alabama with comfortable early morning temperatures in the 60s and 70s under mostly sunny skies. The day will turn hot with highs near 93 degrees in Birmingham under a mix of sun and clouds. By the late afternoon and evening hours, a few isolated storms could develop along and south of the I-20 corridor, although most locations will stay dry all day.

Tonight, humidity and rain chances will increase. Deep tropical moisture combined with an approaching front will bring more clouds overnight along with a few stray storms. Temperatures will cool into the mid-70s by sunrise Saturday.
