COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice held a graduation ceremony Thursday for 145 youth, ages 16 to 19, who earned either a high school diploma or GED through the agency’s Birchwood School program.
The program allows youth at DJJ to continue their education while incarcerated and, in some cases, earn college credit. Family members, educators, and state lawmakers attended the ceremony.
