Family remembers Baton Rouge hit-and-run victim as Louisiana prepares for Jody’s Law to take effect

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — As Louisiana prepares for Jody’s Law to take effect on Aug. 1, the family of a Baton Rouge man killed in a hit-and-run is remembering the life he lived while hoping his death brings both justice and change.

Thirty-nine-year-old John Le Nguyen was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Greenwell Springs Road late Saturday night. The driver left the scene, leaving Nguyen’s loved ones searching for answers.

For his family, however, John’s story is about much more than the circumstances surrounding his death…
