Demolition work has started on the former Libbey Glass manufacturing center, once home to one of Shreveport’s major employers.
There is a lot to knock down. The 54-acre site has 850,000 square feet of warehouses, offices and manufacturing space. It is filled with basements, furnaces, an overhead crane and conveyor belts, much of it used over the roughly 100 years the facility was in business.
