Honolulu’s Fasi Municipal building faces ongoing elevator problems as City plans modernization

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Employees at Honolulu’s Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building said recurring elevator problems have become a daily frustration, with some reporting long delays, missed meetings and concerns about safety.

The 15-story municipal building has six elevators — five for public and employee use and one freight elevator.

On Thursday, employees told KHON2 that none of the five public elevators were operating in the morning hours, forcing workers and visitors to use the freight elevator to access city offices…
