ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Roanoke Mayor Joe Cobb is responding after Police Chief Scott Booth was named a finalist for a police chief position in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
According to a Facebook post from Myrtle Beach City Government, Booth is one of four finalists for the position. Booth joined the Roanoke Police Department in October 2023.
Cobb said City Manager Valmarie Turner was informed of Booth’s candidacy on Thursday. Cobb said the city manager then notified him. He said he had not spoken directly with Booth and did not know the extent of conversations between Booth and the city manager regarding whether Booth is actively seeking other positions…
