RI woman accepts plea deal in murder-suicide case

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — The Warwick woman accused of illegally providing the gun used in a murder-suicide more than two years ago has accepted a plea deal.

Heather Costa, 39, pleaded no contest Friday to false information when securing a firearm or license and illegal sale of a concealable weapon.

Costa admitted in Kent County Superior Court that she bought a Glock 17 pistol for 24-year-old Austin Amaral back in January 2023.
