Radio stations lead two-day supply drive for Fox Valley tornado victims

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) — Local radio stations across the Fox Valley region are asking the community to help tornado victims through a two-day supply drive called Operation: Valley Strong.

The drive, launched by Midwest Communications, is collecting food, cleanup supplies, batteries, monetary donations and everyday essentials for families affected by the tornado. Volunteers are stationed at Festival Foods in Oshkosh, where the goal is to fill a semi-trailer with donations. The drive runs through 7 p.m. Friday and resumes Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A second drop-off location is available in Green Bay on Steffens Court.

What donors are bringing

Cathy Koch of Oshkosh said she gathered items she already had at home to donate.

“I had a lot of things that I just had around the house that I haven’t really used,” Koch said. “Some wipes, there’s some gloves, there’s just a really wide variety — bags, blankets, you know just a wide variety of things.”

Businesses joining the effort

Clark Oilschlager of Deb’s Spare Time Bar and Grill in Oshkosh said the restaurant offered a free buffet to anyone who brought a donation Wednesday…
