Air conditioning system not working at shelter for domestic violence survivors

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KOKH) — The heat is causing issues for a local shelter that houses survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.

The aging air conditioning system at YWCA Oklahoma City is not working right now, forcing the nonprofit to find alternate places for its residents to stay.

“We spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in HVAC services a year. We contract with incredible companies.
