Section III girls lacrosse coaching legend, No. 2 on state career wins list, abruptly resigns

Syracuse, N.Y. — Bridget Marquardt, one of the most successful girls lacrosse coaches in state history, has resigned from her position running the team in Skaneateles.

Marquardt sent her letter of resignation to superintendent Eric Knuth on July 11, ending a 25-year run that brought the school five state titles.

“There will always be a special place in my heart for every player I’ve been privileged to coach, for the amazing assistant coaches I’ve served with and the enthusiastic parents and fans in the stands,” Marquardt wrote in the letter. “I am confident that the future is bright for our program and my heart is filled with gratitude and love for all that Skaneateles girls lacrosse has brought to my life.”…
