Bullock Creek’s Junior League Baseball all-stars lost for the very first time this postseason on Friday evening. Only one more loss, however, and that postseason will come to an abrupt end.
Creek met its match in Illinois state champion Elmhurst in the winners’ bracket semifinal of the Central Region tournament hosted by Northeast in Midland, dropping a nail-biter 7-6 in a matchup which was dramatic to the very final pitch.
“These are fun games. This is what you want for your group, because, even though we didn’t get the outcome we wanted on the scoreboard, this game tested them, and they answered,” said Creek manager T.J. Rhynard, whose team will face Wabash, Ind., in a 9 a.m. elimination game on Saturday…
