The Washington State Department of Transportation said on Thursday that people should expect traffic and delays around the region this weekend as tribal families canoe to the DuPont area for Tribal Journeys Paddle to Nisqually.
WSDOT spokesperson Doug Adamson told The Olympian on July 31 that people are being asked to give themselves a bit of additional time in their travels as canoe families are welcomed to the landing area in DuPont.
He said that while there is no significant I-5 construction in the south sound this weekend, they expect an uptick in traffic in DuPont, around Joint Base Lewis-McChord and on routes near Nisqually through the weekend…
