AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) — As students prepare to head back to the classroom, one local organization is working to make sure they have the tools they need to start the school year ready and confident.
The Purpose and Pages Foundation, Inc. is hosting its “Books, Bags, and Beyond” back-to-school event, offering school supplies, book bags, books, haircuts, and other resources for students and families.
“The foundation is a literacy foundation,” Founder Shanel Jewel Hall said. “We feed into our kids first, but we also help adults. I feel like in our community that there’s a lack of resources when it comes to, or a lack of known resources when it comes to literacy.”
Through the foundation’s programs, Hall provides books and resources throughout the year, including the “Jewel’s Books, Bags, and Breakfast” program.
