COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A nearing front will keep scattered showers and thunderstorms in the forecast this evening and again Sunday.

First Alert Summary:
The potential of rain and storms will gradually decrease into tonight. Any bouts of heavy rainfall could still result in some flooding across parts of the Midlands, especially for areas that ended up seeing a lot of rain today. Expect low temperatures in the lower 70s under a mostly cloudy sky.
Keep your rain gear near by for Sunday as well! A nearing front far to the west is expected to kick off more showers and thunderstorms tomorrow. The best timing for rain will generally be in the afternoon and evening.
Some localized flood issues are possible, especially where heavy rainfall fell today. An isolated severe thunderstorm cannot be ruled out either. The Storm Prediction Center has all of the area under a ‘Marginal 1/5 Risk’ for a few storms that could produce gusty winds.
This approaching front will slowly fizzle out as it tracks into the region by the beginning of the upcoming week. Residual moisture is forecast to linger as this happens keeping a daily chance of rain and thunder all through the work week.
