Ohio man arrested in Northern Michigan for DUI, loaded handgun

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI – A resident of Ohio has been arrested in Northern Michigan for operating a vehicle while drunk.

At 10:35 p.m. July 25, troopers from the Michigan State Police Traverse City Post conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck driven by Michael Lewandowski, 48, on County Road 633 in Blair Township for a vehicle violation.

Police said when troopers contacted Lewandowski, they observed signs of intoxication and believed he was impaired. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, troopers located an open container of alcohol and seized a loaded handgun and additional loaded magazines…
