Lenovo invests $145M to double Whitsett campus

WHITSETT — A $145 million investment is doubling the size of Lenovo’s Guilford County manufacturing campus, where the technology company is expanding domestic production of servers and other high-performance computing equipment amid growing demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Executives marked the expansion Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the North Carolina Smart Campus in Whitsett. Manufacturing is already underway inside the enlarged facility, with more than 400 positions filled and hundreds of additional employees expected as production increases.
