VENICE — The heroics during an active shooter situation at Florida State University last year that got Reid Pitts recognized as the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary Officer of the second quarter also earned him the Auxiliary Trooper of the Year honor.
It was presented at the FHP’s 10th annual Awards Banquet in Orlando on July 18 with his family and his wife, Abby, present.
