A brush fire broke out early Saturday morning, halting traffic on the 5 Freeway in Castaic.
Around 2:30 A.M., first responders received reports of a brush fire on the northbound side of the 5 Freeway north of Lake Hughes Road in Castaic, according to Pauline McGee, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“Firefighters arrived on scene at 2:35 A.M. and reported that smoke and fire were showing. The fire was going at a slow rate of spread with a little to medium fuel with winds from the east,” said McGee.
