As the tattoo machine hummed across her leg, Savanna Georges watched another chapter of her faith take shape in ink. Seated inside Global Tattoo KC, Georges returned to the studio of owner and tattoo artist Gabby Moore for a companion piece to a Biblical-themed sleeve, this time creating a portrait depicting Daniel in the lions’ den, joining existing pieces featuring Moses, mountains and scripture.
For Georges, choosing Moore was about more than finding a talented artist. After discovering her work online, she said Moore’s realism and status as one of the few Black women who owns a tattoo shop in the Kansas City metro made the decision an easy one.
“I was just looking for a good KC tattoo artist and came across Gabby,” Georges said. “Black-owned business and I liked the work I seen.”
