BELLE CHASSE, La. (WVUE) – Ben Becnel Sr., a well-known, fifth-generation farmer in Plaquemines Parish, died July 29 at age 83, according to a funeral home notice.
A family notice posted by Mothe Funeral Homes described Becnel as a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish and “a widely celebrated citrus and tomato farmer who proudly served as the parish’s 2012 Orange King.”
